Blissful Pictures and a Heart Full of Thanks

Oh dear, it's amazing how time flies...

Life has been full of busy routines once again.

I hope you all had a lovely Thanksgiving Holiday.

Mine was very special, as must be the case, when surrounded by friends and family :)

And food.

I love the chilly weather we have. It's true...Florida does get cold.

Not icy cold, mind you. My bones have trouble tolerating that kind of weather...Florida ruined me.

But it does get chilly enough down here that it just might have you racing to your wardrobes and closets for a snuggly sweater or blanket at the dawning and departing of each day.

My kind of weather.

My sister adorned our apartment will lovely Christmas cheer.

My mother's Christmas village, that us kids had built up over the many years by presenting her with one each Christmas, now resides with us.

I look at all the rows of quaint homes and shops and sometimes those pesky tears start piling up...reminded of our loss... but you know, also, I am just so grateful for all the fine memories that I can draw upon.

Lots and lots of good ones. So much love :)

Ohh and then there's the nutcrackers that stand at attention at their various stations.

Call me childish, but I still wish and wait sometimes, as the clock draws near to midnight, that maybe, just maybe, I might see a blink or two. Or a puff of breath escaping their slightly creepy, hinged mouths.

This is certainly a lovely time of year and there is so much to be thankful for.

I hope you take the opportunity to relish every moment.

Time slips by so swiftly, one's liable to miss much of it, far too easily if one doesn't take care not to...

Slow down. And thank God for all that he has blessed us with. And that we have a glorious future awaiting us to come.

Hope you don't mind, I had to share the photos below. They make me smile :) God bless pinterest :))

Cheerio.

2 Winners with the most points will receive
2 lovely prizes each:

1. Your choice of One wanderWowl Original Poster Art

2. Your choice of One book out of the following four lovely choices:

a. The Lady of Bolton Hill - Female journalists are rare in 1879, but American-born Clara Endicott has finally made a name for herself with her provocative articles championing London's poor. When the backlash from her work forces a return home to Baltimore, Clara finds herself face-to-face with a childhood sweetheart who is no longer the impoverished factory worker she once knew. In her absence, Daniel Tremain has become a powerful industry giant, but Daniel's success is fueled by resentment from past wounds. When Clara's very life is endangered by one of Daniel's adversaries, they must face a reckoning neither of them ever could have foreseen.

b. Harvest of Rubies   "Tells the story of Sarah, a young Jewish woman who labors under the impressions that  her work is the only thing that proves her worth. Since her mother's death, she believes she is a burden for her father and those around her. She becomes the Queen's senior scribe due to her excellent reading/writing skills but still feels she has to constantly prove herself. When she does receive praise, she fears her next step will be the one that messes everything up. Then Sarah marries Darius, a Persian noble but he comes to the conclusion that she married him for his money and after things go sour on their wedding day it only fuels his disgust for her and he leaves her alone on his estate. Left with only a few servants, Sarah must learn the value of friendship and her own worth. With some guidance of a Persian gardener and advice and wisdom from her cousin Nehemiah, Sarah struggles to regain her faith in God and to believe that the Lord loves her just as she is. But even if she accepts that God loves her, will she ever be able to make Darius love her?"

c. Edenbrooke: A Proper Romance - "Marianne Daventry will do anything to escape the boredom of Bath so when an invitation arrives from her twin sister, Cecily, to join her at a sprawling country estate, she jumps at the chance. Thinking she'll be able to relax and enjoy her beloved English countryside while her sister snags the handsome heir of Edenbrooke, Marianne finds that even the best laid plans can go awry. From a terrifying run-in with a highwayman to a seemingly harmless flirtation, Marianne finds herself embroiled in an unexpected adventure filled with enough romance and intrigue to keep her mind racing. Will Marianne be able to rein in her traitorous heart, or will a mysterious stranger sweep her off her feet? Fate had something other than a relaxing summer in mind when it sent Marianne to Edenbrooke."

d. The Maid of Fairbourne Hall - Pampered Margaret Macy flees London in disguise to escape pressure to marry a dishonorable man. With no money and nowhere else to go, she takes a position as a housemaid in the home of Nathaniel Upchurch, a suitor she once rejected in hopes of winning his dashing brother. Praying no one will recognize her, Margaret fumbles through work and hopes she can last until her next birthday, when she will gain an inheritance from a spinster aunt--and sweet independence. But can she remain hidden as a servant even when prying eyes visit Fairbourne Hall?
