Origin:The Challenge: Designing two posters using type only as design–for an alumni exhibition at my former design school.
...Above are a couple ideas of what I came up with.
I find, I really enjoy designing with strictly type. It might seem limiting at first, without the use of a photographic concepts but the more you experiment, the more possibilities arise. I've come to appreciate the subtle and sometimes not so subtle nuances of shape and size and letter height in serif and sans serif designs
A designer, or typographist, will spend hours and hours designing the fonts that we use. I think, now there is a field of design that gets minimal notice in the general public's eye! and yet, words, letters, and numbers are a part of almost everything we come into contact with in our daily lives, from advertisements, to street signs, to letters, books, and web pages.
We are surrounded by Typography!!!
