A Little Bit of Austen

“A woman, especially, if she have the misfortune of knowing anything at all,
should conceal it as well as she can."

Jane Austen

Well, these ladies seem to know a great deal.

And don't seem to be too eager

to keep it to themselves.

Though, some seem to misapply it to impressive degrees.

They are clever.

Unimpeachable.

Innocent and intriguing.

Lovely and Iconic...

I introduce to you...

a few of Jane's girls...

Jane who?–you ask...

Why, Jane Austen, of course.

Silly

Who else?

I just couldn't make up my mind which one to spotlight, so I picked a few

of my favorite movie adaptations from the newest versions to come out.

Based on three of her novels.

The chances are, you've already seen these versions.

But in case you have not,

well, you cannot call yourself a true

Austen fan unless you've seen 'em all!

So come on, now...

Sense and Sensibility

About a widow and her three daughters who have fallen on hard times.

The older two sisters attract a trio of suitors but realize that their approaches to love are vastly different, and the men seem to be hiding more skeletons in their closets than a Halloween party store. Hee hee.

Watch these girls navigate the pitfalls of love and life.

_____________

  Northanger Abbey

About an innocent young country girl who travels to the worldly city of Bath––where life is decidedly much more different than what she had imagined based on an education devoted to gothic novels.

_____________

Persuasion

About a young woman who passed over a marriage proposal from a besotted young naval officer because her family didn't approve of his low standing in society.

He has since become a very wealthy officer and gentleman.

They are thrown together again some 8 years later.

Is he still single?

Does he still hold a grudge against her for refusing him all those years ago??

Ahhh...well, you will just have to watch or read them, to find out.

Such lovely stories.

Every one of them.

Jane, you were a genius.

Have you, lovely reader, seen them?

Do you just love 'em?

Hate 'em??

Wish you were 'em?

Let me know what you think!

And as always...

Happy Viewing
